Message from the Founder

Rays NGO is a charitable trust that aims at helping children who have HIV (Human immunodeficiency virus). This idea culminated in looking at how HIV positive individuals are abandoned and are regarded as a burden onto society. Most of these individuals who have the malady are looked down upon only because they are ill, and most of them have no role to play living through this affliction.
We firmly believe that children are the nation's future, and if given the right direction and opportunities, they can contribute significantly to the country's development.
We, through Rays, set out on a mission to help children with HIV to help fight discrimination and rise above the stereotypes, challenges, and hardships and create a life that they envision for themselves.

Founded by Mr Gurinder Virk and Mrs Rashmi Kuchhal, this idea started with only three kids. Over the years, it grew into an organisation that homes more than 50 HIV positive children and ten caretakers. Their parents usually abandon these children, have lost them, or in a lot of cases, have been brought by their parents after they could not afford to raise them. We welcome these children with open arms to provide them with access to basic life needs like food, shelter, education, and lots of love. Through this initiative for caring for HIV positive children, we home these children and give them the basic means to live and help them make spaces for themselves in society by raising awareness on the subject.
